Overview
On-site assessment flow 100% audited by AI in Figma before handoff
The product: a B2B2C marketplace connecting homeowners with professional painters for quotes, visit scheduling and held payments. My role: Senior Product Designer / Lead Designer, responsible for the UX/UI of the end-to-end flow — including building the customer web portal from scratch, which didn't exist before — and the painter's mobile app, redesigning the on-site assessment and contract, and using Generative AI to audit rules in Figma. The core problem solved: removing friction and distrust from hiring, by having the painter's on-site assessment in the app automatically feed a complete, transparent contract for the customer.

The problem
In the old flow, the painter's visit was informal and the contract used generic terms. That led to disputes mid-job: the customer assumed something was included and the painter charged extra for it. The on-site visit happened, but the company wasn't making use of that data.

Context
Coral (AkzoNobel) already ran the painter app on the "Contrate um Pintor" (Hire a Painter) marketplace, but customers had no portal of their own — I built that web portal from scratch. The product's turning point was the on-site assessment: the moment the painter measured the space and defined the scope of work — and that was exactly where the experience still relied on informal notes and verbal agreements between both sides.

Design decisions
I redesigned the flow so that every choice the painter made on their phone built the customer's final contract in real time. In the painter app: a quick room-by-room form (area, wall condition, filling, sanding and photos of the space). On the customer web portal (which I also built from scratch): that information was automatically injected into a transparent contract, with itemized services and a button to accept the quote, with payment held until the job is done.

I also used Generative AI in Figma to sweep the project for usability gaps, mismatched wording between app and web, and forgotten edge cases — like a visit being cancelled at the last minute. The AI worked as a product QA, with a final human review.

Outcome
The contract stopped being a source of friction and is now generated automatically from the data collected during the on-site assessment, reducing disagreements between customer and painter once work begins and giving Coral structured visibility into every visit.
